Download the binary installation files for 1.0.0 Alpha here:

Or Download the latest source files here:

Rhapsody Remote - Pocket PC Remote control application for the Rhapsody Streaming music client.

Rhapsody Relay - Relays commands to the Rhapsody music client  - you must install this for Rhapsody Remote to work

OpenRhap.Net SDK - A domain model oriented, easy to use developers' toolkit for writing .Net code that uses Rhapsody Web Services and to automate the Rhapsody music client from .Net and .Net Compact Framework applications.

I will post some more detailed information on how the OpenRhap.Net SDK is structured soon.  For now, know that the main / intended developer entry points are the classes inside of the OpenRhap.Media library.  With the right configuration files, your app can simply utilize the MediaCatalog and MediaPlayer classes to access the Rhapsody Web Service data and control the Rhapsody win32 client.

One of the best ideas I've seen in ages. What a shame. Seems like you gave up.

Can't get it to work. Can't even figure out how to tell it where to find Rhapsody relay.

It's actually quite brilliant. Searching and playing a multi-million track library from the Pocket PC. Never been possible before.

Make this thing play music directly from the PPC and now we're talking. It's just sad knowing millions of idiots are spending countless hours downloading songs manually and copying them to standalone MP3 devices. Meanwhile I'm the only one leaving a comment here who realizes what a remarkable step this is. The possibility of having an infinite library of streaming music available on-demand whenever and wherever I want on my 3G wireless HTC Hermes device - for half the price of HBO. Oh well.

Downloads need to be renamed ".zip" BTW.

ditto. would love to see this thing actually working, but it's pretty lacking in documentation right now. I can get the app and all of the search functionality to work on my windows mobile device, but it doesn't seem to communicate at all with my rhapsody desktop app (which I thought was the purpose of the remote). Odd how it doesn't ask for any of my login info either. It would be nice if you included some documentation or at least some updates on exactly how the alpha version of this app is supposed to be functioning so that those of us who are trying it out won't waste time trying to get the program to do stuff it's not capable of doing yet.

Prior to this, I had a brief dalliance with Wi-fi tunes (extremely buggy), but being a die-hard Rhapsody fan, this app would be right up my alley. Also messed around with Pocket PC player, which is an excellent PDA multimedia player complete with UPNP support, but I never got it to work with Rhapsody's UPNP.

It would also be great if the remote control functionality could be extended to media streamers. I have the OmniFi DMS-1, but I lost my remote control for it a couple of years ago and haven't been able to find a code for it for my universal remote.

Anyway, keep up the good work -- I'm hoping this will truly be a killer app down the line.

This is great! One question: Is there any way around the authentication issue? I have a portal which requires a login/password. Am I out of luck?
